The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution lineage, a rally-bred AWD icon, kicked off with the Evo III (1995–1996) lightweight screamer featuring a refined 4G63 turbo engine (270 hp), aggressive aero hood, and WRC-winning prowess under Tommi Mäkinen. It evolved through the Evo VI (1999–2001) with enhanced durability, titanium turbine, better cooling, and sharper handling for peak rally dominance. The Evo IX (2005–2007) brought MIVEC variable valve timing to the 4G63 for superior mid-range torque and response, plus refined ACD/AYC systems. Finally, the Evo X (2007–2016) introduced a new aluminum 4B11T turbo engine, advanced S-AWC torque vectoring, and modern tech for ultimate all-weather grip and performance.
