Special Vehicle Government Inspection Package

Under government regulations, private cars manufactured six years or more before the date of licensing are required to undergo an annual vehicle examination before their vehicle licence can be renewed.

For modified vehicles, high-performance sports cars, high-powered vehicles, classic/vintage vehicles aged 15 years or above, and other vehicles with special specifications, Z-Challenger offers the Special Vehicle Government Inspection Package. Our professional team will assess the vehicle based on its model, year, specifications, horsepower and modifications, then provide a suitable inspection solution and individual quotation.

Please bring the original Vehicle Registration Document (original vehicle registration book) when visiting the selected service location.

Service Overview

Our professional team will conduct a comprehensive safety inspection based on the vehicle’s actual specifications and condition, and assess whether any parts need to be restored, removed, reinstalled or otherwise prepared prior to inspection.

Once the necessary checks and preparations are completed, we will arrange for the vehicle to undergo inspection at a government-designated vehicle examination centre.

As specifications, conditions and modifications vary between special vehicles, service requirements and charges will be quoted individually based on the actual vehicle condition.

Eligible Vehicles

This package is primarily designed for:

• Modified vehicles
• Two-door or four-door high-performance sports cars
• Vehicles with over 280 horsepower
• High-performance / high-powered imported sports cars
• Classic / vintage vehicles aged 15 years or above
• Other vehicles requiring special inspection arrangements or pre-inspection preparation

• Comprehensive vehicle safety inspection
• Pre-inspection vehicle condition and specification assessment
• Inspection of modifications / upgraded components
• Government vehicle inspection arrangement
• HK$585 Government Vehicle Examination Fee
• Any restoration, removal or reinstallation of parts required before inspection will be quoted separately

Please note: This package does not include engine oil or oil filter replacement.

• There is no fixed package price for this service. All special vehicles are subject to prior assessment and individual quotation.
• Modified or upgraded vehicles may need to be restored to a condition that meets vehicle inspection requirements before inspection.
• Where restoration is required, customers must provide the relevant original parts.
• Parts removal/reinstallation, restoration, repairs, replacement parts and other additional work will be charged separately.
• Required work and charges will depend on the vehicle’s model, year, specifications, horsepower, modifications and actual condition.
• Customers are advised to provide the vehicle model, year, horsepower and modification details before booking for preliminary assessment and quotation.

• The voucher is valid for 180 days from the date of purchase.
• Expired vouchers will not be accepted and are non-refundable and non-extendable.
• Once the purchase and quotation are confirmed, no changes can be made.
• This service is specifically designed for special vehicles and vehicles requiring additional inspection arrangements.
• All vehicles must be assessed by our team before the final service scope and charges can be confirmed.
• Quotations will be based on the vehicle’s make, model, year, specifications, horsepower, modifications and actual condition.
• This package does not include engine oil or oil filter replacement.
• Parts removal/reinstallation, vehicle restoration, repairs, replacement parts or other additional work will be quoted separately.
• Customers are responsible for ensuring that all vehicle and modification information provided is accurate and complete.
• Whether the vehicle passes the government examination is subject to its actual condition and the applicable government inspection standards. This service does not guarantee that the vehicle will pass the government vehicle examination.
• The workshop reserves the right to refuse service based on the vehicle’s actual condition.
